Round, silver chards of light pierce the darkness
With an element of surprise.
The sun retired for the night has passed the horizon and is drifting
to sleep over the pacific ocean
Warming the seas , creating warm currents that drive the weather across
the globe
I know it’s there because it gives illumination to the moon
Ohh so beautiful
Like a midnight fire in the sky, a cold flame of soft light, filtering
through the canopy turning the night-scape to silver and gray,
Spooky shadows cast in the periphery of my vision and clarity in my
lap as I sit on a log at the edge of the clearing.
We said we would meet here each full moon and I await the sound of
your footsteps jogging their way up the hillside. The night never
seems this alive as I await our lunar encounter…
